The Ovaltine League is the Hertfordshire County Ladies' Golf Association (HCLGA) Scratch Team League.
The Ovaltine Cup was donated in 1966, following a conversation between Nancy Girling from Verulam and another member who was then a director of Ovaltine. They both thought how much more competitive the Scratch Team League would be if there was a trophy to play for - thus the Ovaltine Cup was born.
All Hertfordshire clubs which have entered the league are drawn into divisions and groups. Each club then arranges home and away fixtures to be played in the league season March 1st – 30th September.
A finals day is held in October at a Hertfordshire Club.
Teams are made up of 5 players. Matches are mostly played at weekends to ensure that Alternate Day Ladies can be included, but may also be played mid-week. A light lunch/tea is usually provided after matches.
The South Herts league organiser is a member, usually one of the team players, who is also responsible for providing all results to the County League Captain.
For 2024, South Herts are in Division 2.
The League organiser for 2024 is Lynne Owen.

South Herts Golf Club was founded by the Committee and members of Muswell Hill Golf Club.
The 18-hole 6,435 yards Vardon Course is one of the longer courses in the local area.
Pro staff are always happy to advise members and visiting golfers on the most appropriate equipment.
The Vardon Course was originally designed by the twice Open winner Willie Park Junior.
The bars and lounges provide comfortable surroundings in which to enjoy a drink with friends after a game.
