Annual Prize Presentation Night
Friday, 17th November 2017
The Annual Prize Giving Supper was held on Friday, 17th November at South Herts Golf Club. Once again this evening was well supported with a full field of golfers playing in the morning's shotgun start, four ball better ball stableford competition with our winners Messrs. Taylor, Joyce, Nicholls & Nicholls pipping Jackson, Dixon, Breeley & Woodham on count back with 92pts. Longest Drive-Charlie Rudge & Nearest the pin-Tony Joyce.
A special well done to Danny Nicholls who managed a hole-in-one on our 14th hole followed by a few celebrity drinks in the clubhouse after play, thank you Danny!
The evening welcomed all those who couldn't make the golf, with over 110 members attending the evening festivities. The evening's highlight was listening to ex-Tour Pro and Sky Sports presenter Nick Dougherty telling stories of his days on tour and experiences. We even set him a challenge.......

Putting with Harry Vardon's putter from his 1899 Open win and gutter percha ball (Harry's as well) in front of the members, we challenge Nick to hole out into the pint glass.....Nick's best effort was one rotation short from the glass, great try though.
