SOUTH HERTS 2 ESSENDON 3
It is with a very heavy heart that I must report that we lost the final on Friday at home.
Our first two games delivered a point each but the last three games could not back them up.I’ll be the first to hold my hand up-I didn’t play well enough and we didn’t take our opportunities.
I thought as a whole finals day at South Herts went really well. The food from our new caterers Trevor and his team was top notch-thank you Trevor. Also a huge thank you to Sky and her team for looking after us.
I have to say a ‘big big’ thank you to Seema and Fran for all the hard work they put in to make finals day a real success...I really appreciate it girls.
Also thanks to John Wells and his lads for all their hard work through the year and always doing their best for us.
Thank you to Stuart our secretary for all his help and support he has given us over the last two years.Stuart’s door has always been open and has always been available for advice and help.
A big thank you to Vice Captain Danny boy and Captain Huff who have always given us loads of support all through the year.
Another big thank you must go to John North who has helped me so much from day one with all the website stuff.John has put in a huge amount of work...it is much appreciated John.
Also thanks to Munners,Nikki Harris,Tom Hughes,John North,John Dixon,Malcolm White and anybody else that I have forgotten for all your support on the day.
Thank you to Matt Sullivan for spending his evening to draw up a spread sheet so we could have all the results on the big screen. Also thank you to Ian Blackman for sorting out the technical side for us.
Thank you to Suni, Richard, Bunno, and Tel boy for jumping in at last minute and filling the spaces in the Shield competition.
A big thank you to my vice-cap Mr Golf for all his enthusiasm and help through the season. This boy lives and breathes Tigers as you probably all know-thanks boy.
Last but definitely not least a huge thank you to you the squad...without you guys the Tigers do not exist. Lets remember that’s it’s not just the team that plays on the day but everybody in the squad that contributes or supports through the year.
As you probably all know Roger Goddard is leaving South Herts because of the distance he has to travel to and from the club.
Roger has been at the heart of the Tigers and has played a massive part in the squad.I think I can say on behalf of us all...we will miss you Roger and wish you all the best of luck for the future.Come back and visit soon.
Ok boys and girls upwards and onwards we go.I’m already in the process of sorting our fixtures for next year.
This is who we have in our division for 2019:
Finals day to be held at Essendon.
Good golfing and be lucky.
See you in the bar.
