The South Herts Foxes Team won their semi-final at The Hertfordshire on Friday. In a dramatic afternoon's golf, The Hertfordshire saved themselves by birdieing the last hole of the final match to claim a half.
The four games finished 2-2. One match was won by either side, the two others finishing in halved games.
In that situation the rules are that one pair are chosen by each captain and they play a sudden death play-off.
South Herts chose Sunil Bansal and Tom Hughes. Fortunately they triumphed on the first extra hole, Sunny making a short putt on the first green for the win.
They now progress to the final which will be held at Aldenham on Thurs 4th October against either The Shire or Brookmans Park. It completes a treble of successful semi-final wins adding to the wins of the Tigers and the Herts Team Knock-out.
