South Herts beat Moor Park in Senior Scratch Friendly

The annual friendly scratch match between South Herts Seniors and Moor Park Seniors had to be halted because of lightning after only a few holes played, with one pair deciding to abort their match.

This lead to a change in the match format after a lengthy delay. 4 single matches (18 holes), 1 single (9 holes) & 2 Betterball matches (9 holes), all played off scratch.

Simon Kay  Won  2 & 1 (18 holes)

Bob Peacock  Halved  (Match Aborted)

Matthew Cohen  Won 3 & 1 (18 holes)

Simon Butler  Won 1  up (18 holes)

Colin Hardman Lost  1 down (9 holes)

Alfie Schlosz & Alistair Carey  Won  4 & 2 (9 holes)

Conrad Mazen & Terry Bannister Lost  2 down (9  holes)

Our superstars , Simon and Matthew , once again performed superbly in extremely difficult conditions. Also, well played Simon B, making his debut for the Seniors,  a winning one.

It was, certainly, a pleasure to overcome our fiercest rivals at Seniors level, in spite of the fact that under normal conditions,  it could have been a different result.

My very best regards.
