Digital & Social Media Coordinator (Part-time)

Job Description

The South Herts Golf Club is looking to recruit a permanent part-time Digital & Social Media Coordinator to join its Office team.

This newly created part-time position will play a pivotal role in developing South Herts digital profile as the Club seeks to expand its online engagement across a variety of social media, complementing existing communication channels and working collaboratively with all areas of the Club and governing bodies.

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting to the Secretary your responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:
  • Helping to establish and manage South Herts social media profile, and leading engagement with the Club’s online community
  • Planning, creating and publishing a variety of digital content including photography and video
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of strategic communications to the Club’s membership, staff and marketing committee.
  • Regular reporting on social media performance and developing new engagement strategies based on social trends and audience analysis
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with South Herts staff to ensure content is timely, accurate, and adheres to South Herts best practice principles
  • Collaborating on and supporting communications initiatives from across all departments at the Club

 
What does the Club need from me?

  •  Social and digital media experience, preferably in a sporting or hospitality environment
  • Excellent written, organisational and interpersonal skills with great attention to detail
  • Understanding of, and experience working with, organisational branding and style
  • Technical skill in using the Adobe Suite, primarily InDesign and Photoshop
  • Skills in DSLR photography and photo editing
  • Exceptional time management and flexible working
  • Experience working with, or producing, video content (desirable)
  • Website content management experience (desirable)

Course Starters/ Marshalls

Department: Golf

Report to: Head Golf Professional

Job Description

This newly created position, working on seasonal basis March - October to cover the main golfing events and visiting groups.

The role would suit someone with flexibility and is a non-paid role, in return you will receive access to the Vardon course.

What will I be doing?

  • Providing a warm welcome to the club with guidance for visitors as to the whereabouts of coffee etc on arrival, the locker rooms and daily codes, scorecards, and directions to the course facilities.
  • Locate visitors to the necessary car park, bag drop and cross-reference appropriate dress to access the Clubhouse and Course.
  • Setting up “Nearest the Pin” and “Longest Drive” equipment if and when required.
  • Bringing personality to the role so as to improve the visitor’s experience, acting as an ambassador for the club, providing exceptional service and behaviour.
  • Using tact and diplomacy, ensuring that enforcement is viewed as assistance rather than criticism, punishment or restriction (Being the person every player is happy to see)
  • Endeavour to exceed player expectations helping locate lost golf balls, rake bunkers and offering to help groups who are struggling to keep up.
  • Monitoring pace of play, etiquette and course car.
  • Ensuring player safety at all times.
  • Providing extra eyes and ears for the security of the course.
