Unusually for a private club within Greater London, South Herts benefits from a range of playing facilities: The Vardon Course, a 6432 yard, par 72, 18 hole course, The Rees Course, a 1582 yard par 28 "par 3" course, and a practice ground with a number of covered driving bays. The courses occupy 147 acres of undulating parkland in Totteridge, North London. Originally arable farmland, the almost continuous programme of tree planting over a hundred years or more has produced a wooded landscape that is as attractive to look at as it is challenging to play.
