The Vardon course is a challenging 6429 yard course with undulating fairways, well-sited bunkering and relatively small greens, several of which slope steeply from back to front. Constructed to USGA specifications, the greens are maintained to a high standard providing fast, true putting surfaces throughout the season, and landing areas that will hold a well struck shot but will be somewhat unforgiving of miss-hits.

With our own borehole and a full irrigation system we are able to maintain a high standard of presentation even during the hottest summers and our fairways and greens are renowned as being amongst the best in North London and Hertfordshire.

At first sight the course may look relatively open, but correct positioning off the tee, and careful assessment of distance on the approach, are essential if a good score is to be returned.

Put all these factors together and perhaps its no surprise that South Herts has regularly been chosen by the R & A as an Open Pre-Qualifying venue.
